Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is famed for its iconic baobab-dotted savannahs and the Tarangire River that draws wildlife through the dry season. With one of the highest elephant concentrations in Tanzania, it’s a sanctuary of massive tusks and ancient trees. As the dry season deepens, wildlife crowds near water sources and the park springs into drama: herds of elephants, prides of lions and herds of cape buffalo share the flood-plain and river corridor. Birdlife flourishes too, as marshes and riverine forests host species in vivid plenty — making Tarangire equally excellent for safaris and ornithologists alike. Under velvet twilight the silhouettes of baobabs rise like ancient sentinels, and the hush of dusk invites you into the stillness of Africa’s wild heart.
